Middle School (7-8)
CalPac’s Middle School program strives to transition students out of elementary school and prepare them for the rigor and independence required to be successful in high school. We believe that online learning at this age leads to greater independence, self-motivation, critical-thinking skills, and time-management skills.
Personalized Learning for Students Success
CalPac courses are designed to give your child a well-rounded, high-quality education that works best for them and fits their schedule.
Curriculum can be personalized to each student’s needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations.
For the majority of our middle school students, this is their first time doing an independent study program and learning online. While our program provides flexibility and freedom, it also requires a new level of dedication and focus, without the constant supervision from a teacher.
Our curriculum helps students navigate this new learning model while also challenging them to grow academically and reach their learning goals. All the courses we offer meet California educational standards, so your student will be learning the same subjects as their peers, but getting the most out of their schooling since they control their how and when they work.
A Safe Place to Learn & Grow
Middle school is a time of change and growth. It comes with personal, emotional, mental, and physical transformations. Add in more challenging classes and greater teacher expectations, and students are often left either rising to the occasion or treading water. That’s why our CalPac teachers are devoted to making sure our students are fully prepared, properly challenged, and completely supported at this stage in their education.
Being a middle school student at CalPac means you are part of our middle school family. Everyone is included, differences are appreciated, and bullying of any kind is not tolerated.
We want our students to have every opportunity to build a solid foundation for their academic futures. All we require is that students give us their best effort and determination, even when things get challenging.
Full Support for Your Middle Schooler & You
As a parent, you play a leading role in your child’s education and we encourage you to take an active part in their learning. We see their success as a collaboration between their determination, your support at home, and their teachers’ support online.
Every student in our CalPac program has a dedicated “homeroom” teacher to support them and provide individual feedback on course progress and weekly attendance. On top of that, families are given a contact sheet when they enroll. Our faculty is available to you and your student during regular business hours to help with whatever you need.
Middle school students can take advantage of our weekly study hall, where they can virtually drop in with any questions they may have. CalPac also offers small class sizes for individual attention and support, monthly events to form strong peer connections, virtual semester planners to keep them organized, and one-on-one support when they need it.
Parents can support their student by working closely with the homeroom and content teachers and monitoring student work and attendance through the online Parent Portal.
Family Expectations
Parents play a pivotal role in their child’s education no matter what. In each program and at different ages, the parent role varies slightly. As your education partner, we make sure you know exactly what is expected of you and your student, so you feel confident about your child’s educational journey.
